Hey guys, first time poster here.

I’m sure it has been asked 1000 times, but with the new Ryzen series release I was wondering if it is worth it for me to upgrade to the Ryzen 5 3600.

I currently have a Ryzen 3 2200G OC to 3.9 GHz, GTX 1060 6GB GPU, 16GB 3000 MHz RAM, and 500W PSU.

I mostly play games like Battlefield 4, WoW, Black Ops 4, Fortnite, and Apex, but I’m mostly interested in the new Modern Warfare coming out in a couple of months and I want to it run smoothly and without stuttering.

Is it worth it for me to consider upgrading my CPU, GPU, or should I just wait it out for a while and not worry about either. If it’s worth upgrading, is the 3600 the best option for the money, especially without having to upgrade the MoBo.

Thanks all and I apologize if this is not the correct place for this!

I’ve read that it is planned, the bios just hasn’t been released yet. I hope it is. If it does end up having support, do you think the upgrade is worth it?
From 4 core/4thread 1st gen ZEN to 6 core/12 thread 3rd gen ZEN. Yes, it's worth it. Especially so going forward if you expect you to play future games that better utilize more execution threads.

Keep in mind these are BETA... check the support page for your board REGULARLY to get the release BIOS. If it's there, don't even use the BETA. Also don't update to a beta unless you have a Zen2 processor and need it to use it.

Thanks for the response! I was mostly worried that the extra power wouldn’t be worth it with just a GTX 1060 as my GPU
