I have an old 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB DDR2 RAM lying around. Will it reasonably run any modern games given a good enough GPU?

To be honest there could be nothing at all many be just the HDD if it is not too old and still in running condition. :)

But with the PSU that you are currently using. My prediction is one that is less than 450W would not be suitable for a new upgrade.

A good GPU will help however you will need a better PSU, a case that fits the GPU, a CPU that doesn't get bottle necked, a RAM preferably 8GB. Are the important factors to keep in mind.

So as this is an old PC and there are plenty upgrades to do. I believe it is worth building one if you are alright with it.

So basically, get a new everything? I can simply buy a new PC or build one from scratch but I was wondering if there's anything salvageable in this one.
