Hi All,
I have a ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 MB with an AMD FX-8300 CPU. I replaced the PSU about 10 months ago with a Corsair CS850M.
A few weeks back, my PC started to frequently (multiple times a day) reboot. I ended up doing a fresh re-install of Win 10 Prof a couple of weeks ago, and the problem seemed resolved.
I had been monitoring my temps, and nothing seemed out of line.
I normally leave my PC running continuously.
I just came home from out of town for a few days and my PC is dead. The case fan and CPU fan are running, but the power button does not do anything, and I don't see the green LED on the Motherboard that I normally did when it was getting power. The fans will run for about 20-30 minutes then shut off. If I turn off the PSU switch for a few seconds and turn back on, the fans come back on.
So my question is whether this seems like a PSU or MB issue? I'd assume since both fans are working the PSU is probably OK, but since they do shut down, I'm not certain.
Every "test" of the PSU I've seen seems to check if the fan works, since mine is already working I'm thinking it is "passing" that test.
Any thoughts and trouble shooting tips (for either PSU or MB) would be greatly appreciated.
