Is Mixing Corsair Vengeance 4GB Sticks with 2GB Sticks Okay?

Hi, simple question to the community. Currently I have 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 Ram sticks. So 8GB altogether. I have 4 slots in total (2 open) My question was would it be any issue to put 2 more RAM sticks in but the 2GB versions. So in 4 slots it would go 4GB 4GB 2GB 2GB

All would be Corsair vengeance running at the same frequency and this would give me 12GB of RAM altogether, would this for any reason cause issue? Mixing 2GB sticks with 4Gb ones?

They might play, they might not, there are no guarantees when mixing DRAM from fifferent packages, even if the same exact model, more on this in item 2, here:

Would I be better off with 3 4GB Sticks? (12) Or 2 4GB Sticks and 2 2GB Sticks? (12)

On an 1155 mobo like your, if you're going to try go with a 2x2GB, put the 4GB sticks in slots 1-3 from CPU and the 2GB in slots 2-4, if any problems give me a shout (I've worked with the Pro 3 on a couple of occasions)
