I am posting this question under mother boards because I think it the most likely problem but that may not be the case.......
From the begining; My PC is self built based on an ASUS X570P with an AMD 3rd Generation CPU. It has a GPU (Quadro K2200), SSD and 3 Other HDD's. It has worked perfectly since it was built 3 years ago. It was powered by a Corsair 650w PSU.
Last week while working normally (photo editing) there was a "crackling sound" from the PC box followed in seconds by blank screens (I mean Blank not BSOD). Investigation showed that the domestic socket fuse (5 amp) had blown. Not being a total idiot I unplugged all the power leads from the MB, put a 13 amp fuse in the domestic socket plug and switched on which tripped the mains RCD to the house (not overly popular) which proved the PSU had failed (understatement!)
I replaced the PSU with a New Corsair 750w PSU.
Now I have the problem that appart from a pink / mauve (not good with colours) light coming from what I believe is the X570 chip set cover nothing happens, no fans, lights, nothing.
I have search the internet for ideas, solutions etc and have tried everything suggested, disconnected all the fans (3 inc CPU), removed GPU, shorted the CMOS pins, removed the battery and shorted for 10 minutes, shorted the start switch, removed RAM. The only sign of life is the pinkish light already mentioned. For those familiar with the X570P the pinkish light is located iagonally opposite the on-board connectors panel.
So my question now is whether I need a new MOBO or if the CPU could have been damaged by the PSU failure? I have read that a failed CPU will not stop the MOBO from going to BIOS where is obviously would report the CPU is missing but I can't get that far. Help and advice would be appreciated as neithe the MB or the CPU are cheap!
