So i suffered from myopia and astigmatism and each year it gets worst and i have to replace my glases lense every 1 or 2 years. So i was thinking about upgrading my monitor from 60hz to 144hz. So if i buy a 144hz monitor will it deteriorate my vision and eyesight less than a 60 hz monitor?

Some time ago, when CRT was the current monitor technology, refresh rate was very important.
Your graphics card needed to refresh at at least 85hz to avoid a shimmering image.
CRT monitors repainted the screen continuously.

When LED monitors were introduced, that became a non issue.
LED keeps the same pixels lit unless there is a need for a change.
That is why even a normal 60hz display can look steady.

I think the monitor refresh rate will have very little to do with your vision.
Your eye professional may have a better answer.

What you would get with a 144hz monitor is the ability to see fast action better.
You would also need a graphics card and cpu capable of generating such fast frame rates.

Today, I can suggest a LG or Sony...

You're actually seeing the same image refreshed many times per second—creating the illusion that your screen is smooth. ... A higher refresh rate means a smoother-looking screen that's easier on the eyes. So, if you're trying to ease your eyestrain, a refresh rate of 120 Hz is optimal.

They use hdmi 2.1 and can refresh at 120hz with an appropriate 3000 series graphics card.

No amount of refresh rate is going to help if you have to plant your nose at the screen to see anything. It's only going to get worse that way, and anything closer than your forearm's length is probably too close.

As to how to keep your eyesight from getting worse, I'm sure your eye doctor could offer good advice. Listen to them.

•Higher refresh rate won’t help you much.
•A higher resolution display, like 4K, could help you a bit by displaying clearer images before your eyes.
•Also, please look for monitors that use the flicker-free technology, like this one:
