Question Is motherboard support required for DDR5 on-die ECC?

If you actually need ECC RAM --the vast majority of consumers don't, even if they think they do -- then you want to get proper hardware rather than counting on DDR5. And if you don't actually need ECC RAM, then it doesn't really matter what DDR5 does. It's basically a non-factor.
 
all ddr5 has on dieecc , it doesnt need any mainboard support as its just internal ram correction, its not full ecc ,
full ecc is reserved for server market, it has notch placed at different place then consumer ddr5, so you cant slap ddr 5 ecc into ddr5 non ecc mobo, as it wont fit
