Is mSATA and Mini PCIe the same thing?

I have an Acer Aspire One ZG5 netbook which is old and I'm trying to upgrade it. The wireless card in it is a Mini PCIe form factor which looks a lot like mSATA. I was thinking that if they are the same, I'll just take out my wireless card and install an mSATA SSD and just use a wireless USB adapter for Wi-Fi. Can I do that? Are these two form factors really the same?

I do see adapters online to change Mini PCIe to mSATA. Would any of those actually work?
