Is multiplayer still alive in Modern Warfare 2 PC?

Now I know not many PC gamers play this series but MW2 has always been one of my favorite PS3 games despite how I hated the other ones. After a few years away from my PS3, I missed the game and was wondering if the multiplayer is still alive, so does anyone still play this game?

Unfortunately no, it's plagued with hackers and modders. Most people moved on to BO2 and Ghosts. There's a few stragglers in MW3, I think.

To add up on what iNonEntity said, take Ghosts out of the equation. A terrible launch and weird, unresolved issues which make the game randomly run bad (even on top-notch rigs) scared off most of the community.
Now it's a 2.5k average playercount lagfest, and that's on weekends....

MW3, AFAIK, is close to the same situation. BO2 looks to be slightly more populated, so that's your best bet if you want to indulge into PC CoDs. Either that, or wait for AW and hope it'll be better.

You're best off staying on consoles, if servers for MW2 are still up.
