Is my 500w psu enough for these?

Hey, i might buy the i7-4790k, gtx 970 and a new motherboard as a replacement, but does this build have enough good psu? That raidmax is a super old design and it wasn't good when it was new. A 550W PSU like the XFX above can run any single card setup, the 970 is also fairly low power so you will have a lot of headroom. The motherboard you have selected doesn't support SLI or have a good slot for it anyway so there is no reason to plan for a dual card upgrade when it would require a full rebuild to do.

@SR-71 - the most concerning thing about that video is you can still buy that PSU new, though they appear to have modified the housing and put a new version on newegg to hide it....
