I play a lot of battlefield 3 and recently bought a sapphire 7870 XT 2gb gpu
I installed it updated drivers and such and started playing bf3 it played a lot better than my 7770 and on ultra preset i got around 40-50fps. I thought I could get more from my rig so i have OC'd my CPU to 4.2ghz i ran prime for about 40 mins and temps seem fine and I have no errors. I have also OC'd my gpu core to 1100mhz which from some people's standards is only a mild overclock.

In game i monitor each core as i thought my cpu was holding me back on some cores i get 80 - 90 load mainly core 0 - 3 and on the last 2 i get around 50-60. with around 40fps. Is my CPU holding me back or am i asking too much from it. I only play 1080p and I like to record game play I will go Intel if this will sort out my problem please leave some suggestions.

This is a common situation cpu load is 80-90% yet gpu load is around 60-70%

Its just I thought battlefield was very cpu bound and as my gpu load is low would getting a better cpu up the fps i would like to play on ultra with 60fps minimum

1920x1080 at the minute im using the high preset with dxtory and getting a solid 60fps plus yet im recording in 720p at 30fps its just if i was to get say a 8350 would this improve my experience? thanks for the replies
