I just build a new liquid cooler with a massive 560 radiator. really big one.
now I have two cpus, a delided 7980XE, and a 9980XE, both was boxed.
my new cooler can easily hold 7980XE oc to 4.8G and 3.0G mesh, even I try use prime95 to stress it, option 2, maximum heat and power consumption. in such condition the max temp is 83 degree, pretty good.
but once I change to my 9980xe, I can bearly oc to 4.6G and 3.0G mesh, the voltage is way bellow 4.8G.
when I do the same stressing, the temp is already as 7980XE running at 4.8G, around 78-80 degree.
so it that mean, even use new thermal paste bwtewwn die and IHS, 9980XE still have the potential to do better, like deliding.
or I just unluck, got a really bad 9980XE.
