Is my AMD Ryzen 3 1200 a bottleneck?

Not the best person when it comes to PCs, but i get way less FPS than i expected.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 1200 (at stock performance)
GPU: GTX 1060 Zotac Mini 3GB (at stock performance)
Motherboard: ASUS Prime A320M-K

My question is, is this a bottleneck? When playing games like CS:GO, i get around 140-160 fps and sometimes this dips to 80-90 fps. Looking at benchmarks i should be getting anywhere between 330 and 410 fps but i'm not. I also can't overclock my CPU because i think my motherboard doesn't support it.

If someone can please tell me what's going on, i'd very much appreciate it.

Sadly, the biggest mistake when people by Ryzen, they opt for the cheapest motherboard where the A series does NOT allow overclocking, but for like $20 you can get an OC'ing mobo.
The 1200 is bottom of the range, so it is probably limiting you with fps.
I still don't understand why people are so crazy to have FPS over 100.

I have a 144hz monitor. Also the higher the Framerate the smoother the game feels. But thanks for the help I appreciate you answering my question. I guess i'll just go out and get a different motherboard. Have any recommendations?

Are you sure you're looking at the 3 GB model of the 1060? Userbenchmark says nothing about 330-410 fps. http://www.userbenchmark.com/PCGame/FPS-Estimates-Counter-Strike--Global-Offensive/3680/165268.314292.0.0.0 But that's just user benchmark.

I would agree with upgrading your board.

I'm playing at 1080p, and yes i was looking at the GTX 1060 3gb zotac mini benchmarks.

With this you can put in the game you want to play then put in your hardware and it will show you what your expected FPS should be.

Ahh, i see. It seems like i'm only bottlenecked on CPU based games. That would explain why games like World of Warcraft, Far Cry Primal run perfectly fine at their benchmarks, but games like CS:GO and Warframe don't. So i just need to upgrade my motherboard so i can overclock my CPU to probably 3.5-3.9ghz and that should remove the bottleneck for those games. Will have to get a new cooler for it but might be worth it. Thanks for the help mate seems like the issue has been answered

You can't OC unless you get a new Motherboard
The A series doesn't allow it.
