Is my AMD X4 880K Temperture to High?

I just built my first pc using the stock cooler and have been playing fallout 4 on ultra settings. I opened HWmonitor to check my temps and it said my 880k was running at 90 degrees Celsius. Is this normal or did I do something wrong and be worried? The temperture in the BIOS is at 59 degrees and rising.

That sure seems a bit overly warm, but, I'll let some stock cooler owners chime in for their specific references....

That's extremely high and suggests that the cooler was not installed correctly or there is something wrong with it (it's a physical process, so if everything's OK, it *will* remove heat from the CPU). Maximum operating temperature for this CPU is around 72 degrees.

No-one has mentioned AMD Overdrive yet? Odd.

Download AMD Overdrive to check your thermal margins. As long as it's a positive value while on a full load you're fine. Other temperature monitors are inaccurate.

Personal experience with my x4 760k suggests even that temperature reading you're getting is fine. Just check with AMD Overdrive.
