Good, concerned the ddr3 in the question had been missed, and yes it will have to be ddr3L, so little practical reason to use it, as you are unlikely to have any lying around.
The only difference between DDR3 and DDR3L is that the DDR3L is able to operate at a lower 1.35v compared to1.5v for DDR3.

Gigabyte may have tested the motherboard with 1.5V DDR3 but Gigabyte is not the one providing warranty on the processor if you run the processor out of spec and the memory controller gets damaged.
