So I have a current setup of a computer which has a pretty bad gpu and I wanted to upgrade, but i'm not certain if I can.
This is my current setup:
Mother board: GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3P
Processor : AMD FX-Series FX-8320E
Ram : KINGSTON HyperX Fury 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 1600 CL10 blue (physical appearance red so idk...)
Hard drive : HDD WD 1TB BLUE 7.200
GPU : GIGABYTE graphics card R7 360 OC, 2GB GDDR5, PCI-E 3.0
case : LC-POWER PRO-923B
PSU : LC6550GP2 v2.2

But actually i'm not just asking because of pci, since I now saw that my current gpu is already 3.0, i'm asking if this build is compatible to upgrade to a SAPPHIRE NITRO+ RX 480 8GB because I want solid 60fps, and I have already looked up the xfx gtr rx but it seems as tho my case is too small so I had to choose sapphire, so please, help, with much appreciation, thank you.

Solution

Pretty much. If you know what you are doing, get the brand that you trust the most, and look...

I looked through some videos and saw that quite high settings (like ultra) should run the witcher 3 and gta on atleast almost 60 fps

You have to understand that that is only a guide. All settings (like overclocking) are different. Again, it's not gurantreed to work like what you see in YT videos.

i have one question. Whilst looking through newegg and micro center i saw that they were selling over clocked models. Is that just a cheap tactic of making money for them, because i know how to overclock.

Pretty much. If you know what you are doing, get the brand that you trust the most, and look for a warranty and easy RMA.

Thank you, you were very helpful, and so, i will get the sapphire nitro+ rx 480 8gb and overclock it for the hope of 60fps!
THANK YOU AGAIN!
