Is my build good and can it run these games on ultra

Hi, Im looking to build my first PC in a few weeks and was wondering if its a good build, Im looking to run games like Skyrim, BF3 and GW2 as well as future games like Black Ops 2, Bioshock, Sly Cooper 4 on ultra

Looks like a pretty solid set-up, I am sure he just showed newegg because it is the cheapest, you may be able to get his described components by you for fairly similar prices. You can also go into his config and change the desired retailer.

Uhh, I am pretty sure my 670 maxes out BF3 at 1920x1080...

The 670 GTX/i5-3570K combo can run BF3 at 1080p (single screen) on Ultra in multiplayer very close to 60fps with dips down around 50.

In other words, it's smooth as glass but not "max" (some people consider max to never fall below the refresh rate of the monitor). That's also stock clocks on the 670.

I have the Gigabyte 670, I hit mid to low 50's at the only the most graphically intense moments. I consider maxing out full settings and playable , and generally 30fps is seen as that threshold (although I see what you mean by holding steady at or above the monitor refresh rate).

Nope, the 670 drops the bomb on single player, those are my approximate FPS for multiplayer.

The build is good and will run BF3 on ultra well.

The one thing I would definatly say is get an SSD. It will improve boot/load times hugely. A decent Samsung £128gb drive will cost £85 - £90 and will be big enough for windows and several games. You've not stated your budget but whatever it is, I would suggest making some sacrifices on other components to get one.

I am not a pc expert, but from other posts i've seen here I can tell you that's a nice PC. I think you could get a better monitor, but I searched that one in Amazon and I found a 24" Samsung LED for only 30 pounds more, which seems worth it cause it's a LED one and it's a bit bigger

loresr97 suggested a good monitor. personally, id get the ve228h since it has a higher pixel density. but both are great

thanks, ill look into a SSD but my budget is not a penny over £1000, ok maybe £20-£30. So far all of this is is £898 and I still need an OS

Oh and what cables do I need I know i need the SATA cable and SATA power adapter but is there anything else

you dont need anything. everything is included. sata power adaptors are not needed since the power supply has lots of them. hardly anyone uses molex

if you cant afford a 670, the 7870 is perfectly viable
