I want to build a gaming pc for the first time and I don't want to spend too much on it. I don't know much about building computers and if someone could take a look at it and tell me if there's something unnecessary or if I'm getting ripped off it would be appreciated :)

Hey there, you have picked very well. The i3 6100 you have has hyper threading which allows a single microprocessor to act like two separate processors to the operating system and the application program s that use it. It is a feature of Intel's IA-32 processor architecture ( which means it theoretically has 4 cores instead of two).
