Can anybody help me with this?
I want to up my graphic card from gtx 770 2gb, 256-bit GDDR5, to
MSI GTX 1060 6gb (https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-1060-6GT-OC.html#hero-overview)

but I don't know if my computer is compatible with the MSI GTX 1060.

My PC is the HP Envy 700-306no:
MS-7826 (Kaili)
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 2 GB
Memory: Kingston 8GB DDR3
intel core i5-4460 CPU a 3.20Ghz, 3201 Mhz, 4 core

Link to my pc (HP-link):

I would like to know if my computer is compatible and whether it will work propper together?

Thank you very much🙂

My worry is that your PSU doesn't have enough power to power the 1060 and if there is enough power the PSU might not even come with a 6pin power connector. I do see that there is 24 pins on the motherboard. You could upgrade your PSU and to support the 1060. If you didn't want to go through that hassle you could buy a RX 460. It requires no extra power connector because it gets all the power from the motherboard

Cool thanks for your reply
1. Can I just change my PSU and and insert a the new without else needs to be changed? And which one do I need/ do you recommend?

2. Is the 1060 6gb and RX 460 equally in performance? And if not what is the different?

Tannks very muck🙂

There is a big difference in performance between the GTX 1060($240) and the RX 460($100) i recommend you get RX 470 or RX 480 if you want a graphics card with the price of RX 460 i recommend you get GTX 1050 TI go check the benchmarks on YouTube and you decide which one you want to buy

good luck

Thank you very much for your reply.

I'm though going for a graphics card with good performance in games (like rainbow six siege) and movies.
I have been looking at: ASUS Geforce GTX 1060 Dual OC 6GB and MSI GTX 1060 6GT OCV1, just about the same price. I would like to have a performance like these. I have been told that these cards are alright.

So do you recommend to buy any new hardware (e.g. PSU) before purchasing the graphic card?

Tanks for your answer.

If I should choose between: ASUS Geforce GTX 1060 Dual OC 6GB and MSI GTX 1060 6GT OCV1, just about the same price. Which one should it be?
And what hardware (e.g. PSU) should i buy, if I need any?, before purchasing the graphic card?
