Hey guys! I have a pretty crappy gaming computer, and I am looking to upgrade. I'm just scared it wont be compatible .

Here is the images to all my parts, Please ignore the hate it got when I uploaded it. http://imgur.com/a/Msvu5

---MY PARTS ARE---
Graphics card: amd Radeon hd 5800 series
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 5600+
Motherboard: Asus M2n4 SLI ACPI bios
PSU: ( The psu is 650w) Model number- SST-ST65ZF
4 gigs of ram

Will my computer be compatible if I put in the rx 480?
If so should I get a new PSU?

If their is any questions please feel free to ask and thank you for taking the time out to answer this question!

Hello Mutesfew,

From what I am seeing, I would highly recommend you may need to do a new separate build, the AMD Athlon 64 X2 will horrendously bottleneck the much newer rx 480. However not all has to be thrown out. You can re-use the power supply and your hard drive(I am assuming you have one).

I and others are more than willing to help you in your quest and journey to having a decent gaming capable machine.

The BIG question now is......How much are you willing to spend?

However, to answer your original question regarding compatibility, it will work. But! It will not get anywhere close to performing to its full potential for it it will be held back by your CPU hardcore. Its up to you if you want to get/build a better machine.
