Hi guys, building a gaming PC, and I was hoping for some feedback. Is the setup competent and compatible for gaming/browsing/AutoCAD work?

RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1866

GPU: Zotac GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card
Case: Thermaltake Versa H22 ATX Mid Tower Case
PSU: Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer
Wifi: TP-Link TL-WDN3200 802.11a/b/g/n USB 2.0 Wi-Fi Adapter.

Thanks all!

Thanks for the reply!

I chose a GTX 760 because I was originally going for the 750 Ti (due to good reviews and price) but then I realised I had some of my budget left over, and it seemed like a good thing to upgrade.

As for the PSU, what's wrong with it in particular, and can you recommend a better one please?

My budget is (roughly) £800

It's a good set-up, but I'm afraid I failed to mention the fact I'm buying a £130 monitor, which is part of the £800 budget, so it's more like £670.

Sorry. But it's a damned good build. Any suggestions to save the £130 from the build so I can buy the monitor?

AOC i2369V 60Hz 23.0" Monitor. I've heard it's really good value for money.

read that Quad cores are just fine with AutoCAD. went with the 4690k as it is the same price as the 4690
went with a Z97 board which you can moderately overclock. (get a cpu cooler when you decide to overclock)

this monitor is good :)

Thanks!

However I'd really rather not overclock, so I might stick with your suggested build, but replace the CPU with the originally planned Xeon E3-1231V3, and reduce the RAM from 16GB (£70) to 8GB (£35), which I can always upgrade later.

How does that sound?

p.s I'm REALLY appreciating all your help and input :)

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!

I'll upgrade to 16GB as soon as I can, as you're right, it will help with AutoCAD.

Thanks again, I think we've got it :D
