Is my computer displaying 2560x1440?

So ive just built my new computer and updated all the drivers as far as i can tell and when i look at images and play BF3 on ultra it doesn't seem all that good?

I was playing BF3 on all settings ultra and got my dad to come in and check it out and he said it looked the same as the ps3 graphics -.- was shattered at that comment.

So i checked my Dell u2711 manual and it said if i wanted to the 2560X1440 graphics i had to connect either the DVI, VGA or Displayport cable so i connected the displayport cable and set the screen resolution to 2560x1440 and it don't seem all that good to be honest? Am i doing something wrong? Is there something in my graphics card i need to adjust to use its full potential?

Here are my specs:

Cpu: Intel i5-3570k
Mobo: Asus sabertooth z77
Ram: 16gb
Graphics card: Inno3d Accelero Hyrbid GTX 680 4GB
Monitor: Dell U2711
PSU: Corsair HX750

Have you changed the resolution yourself? It might be at a lower resolution.

Yea, i have changed the resolution, but it just don't seem all that good?

And for some reasons windows is recommending i use 1080, but when i switch to 1080 everything is extremely large and looks very disgusting?

Any ideas??

I don't think there are any drivers for it? I've checked the manual and online and could't find anything about drivers?

There is a monitor driver just check for windows update and go to optional update and you will get monitor driver.

Maybe you just need a new pair of glasses?

You might also want to check your monitor's settings, like the sharpness etc.

Well, the one thing I took away from something that was said at CES from the nvidia president was that most people don't setup there settings optimally hence there implication of nvidia geforce experience. There are very stellar differences in pc gaming with bf3 compared to consoles. I would also suggest that you make sure that your game is set to 1440p and that you also have your settings turned up. Also, on a IPS display it shouldn't look like a PS3 not in a million years the current consoles are so old and outdated its silly and the ones that would come to market would still be at a disadvantage graphically.
