Hi,

I am going to be building my own PC and of course I am not as smart as a computer expert but for anyone who has built their own PC and has experience in building their own will maybe be able to tell me weather the computer specs that I am going for our good enough.

Can you please share your opinion on the specs I have chosen. I have not purchased any of the following parts listed below.

CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2 GHz QuadCore 8MB Cache Processor

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 Premium

Motherboard: ASUS LGA 1151 MAXIMUS IX FORMULA

Memory: Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB Ram

Storage: 8TB

SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 1 TB

Video Card (GPU): EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB

That motherboard and cpu are not compatible. A 7th gen socket 1151 cpu will not work in a socket 2011 motherboard. The 7700k will also not work in the Maximus X Hero while the board is socket 1151 it's 1151 v2 and is for 8th gen Intel cpus.
Is there any reason you are going with the 7th Gen Intel and not the new 8th such as the 8700k or 8700, 8400 (if you dont plan on overclocking) and either get a Z370 if you are going to overclock or a H model motherboard?

Also that Motherboard is not compatible with the 7700k

At this point either get a 8th gen or even a Ryzen 2 would be a better investment.

I was also thinking about the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS X HERO. Thank you for your input!!! I really appreciate it. I heard about the 8700k overheating sometimes but I'll look into it. Thanks!!!
