I get errors when i try to use the product key, I got windows 7 pro from my cousin and he said it was legit so i figured it might be his old copy or something. I know windows isn't great about that kind of thing but since the product key won't work I'm not sure its even legit, heres the log from the Microsoft genuine diagnostic tool:

You can contact Microsoft and find out. No way to know otherwise.

If the key was already used it won't activate unless you contact MS and explain what is going on. If it's a retail copy off a computer that is no longer being used, you should be able to use that code again.

Ok so, my computer is also suffering from multiple different blue screens, all drivers are updated, might windows not being activated be causing this?

No, that is either a driver or a hardware issue. Did you do a clean Windows setup and installed all the drivers from the computer/motherboard vendor?

yes i did, in fact I bought the SSD it is installed on. And all drivers most defiantly came from the correct sources. I can maybe double check over the motherboard as information isn't easy to navigate from asrock

Try different RAM or running one RAM stick at a time. If the crashing is resent try uninstalling anything you install since it started.

so i only have one stick. and i checked over my motherboard and the drivers seem up to date but the bios version shows american megatrend, its an asrock motherboard though so could this be something that may be causing a problem?
Also i have windowbluescreenviewer and majority of what pops up are the OS

The BIOS brand name is normal, that's just the brand of the BIOS, it's available for different motherboards.

You should get a real Windows copy and license first, does not sound like you know exactly what you got for your system. Unless you have hardware issues with the RAM, motherboard or some other parts, a clean Windows setup with proper drivers should not be crashing.

Yes I was thinking i need a proper working windows too. Or atleast my current windows should be proper it won't activate and i've run into a dead end on that front. reckon ill have to buy a clean windows some time down the line.
