Is my CPU bottlenecking my two GPUs in SLI?

I recently added a new gpu to my system to try out SLI. But, when I run benchmarks i get the exact same score. (I tried the bench with SLI enabled, and then with SLI disabled). My thoughts tell me that my cpu is bottlenecking, But I dont think my cpu should be, its not a bad cpu per se.
Specs:
i5 6500
Asus turbo gt 970 x2
gigabyte z170x gaming 7
16 gigs ddr4 G.Skill trident Z

Does said benchmark actually take advantage of SLI?
Does it scale in game properly?

run HWINFO and look under CPU details to see if it bottlenecking or not.

I was using Superposition, in the results it noted whether or not I was using 1 or 2 gpus, so yes I'd assume it took advantage of SLI :/
