Hi, just recently my PC has been being really slow and just generally abnormally slow. I have an i7-3770 a hd 7700 amd graphics card and 8 GB's of RAM. My PC started crashing at first, its probably crashed around 5 times and the sound goes really glitchy. Now my CPU usage randomly spikes and my system is running really slowly, (one of the crashes ended in a blue screen, i think it was the first or second one) now my pc is really laggy as well but hasn't crashed recently. I have run Norton anti-virus in safe mode, reset windows to factory settings, i don't know what to do and i am really frustrated i just want to punch my computer screen. ANY and ALL help is appreciated, thanks for reading this 😀 (i have windows 7)

Make a backup and format the whole PC, avoid Norton Antivirus and install Avast if you really feel like the need of one. It may just be a corrupeted windows or a huge trojan kicking your system. While I dont think is a hardware problem you can check your temperatures with CPUID HWMonitor and test you RAM with MEMtest. There you will have some answers.

Install Malwarebytes' Antimalware, get your computer into Safe Mode, and run a FULL scan (include rootkit, backdoor and highest heuristics scan). This might take hours. If there is no virus found, then it's very unlikely that you're infected, but these problems happen a lot when people have viruses.

could you send me a download link?

Tradesman1 this is what it cam up with for the sannnow
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]

C:\Windows\system32>SFC /SCANNOW

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

C:\Windows\system32>

in safe mode it seems fine but i cant test it on any processor thirsty programs such as games (which are the main reason i want to solve this as i used to get a straight 60 fps on low in bf4 and now im lucky if i get 30 on low) im not sure how to check for a bios update :/

Also for the CHKDSK /R test it came up with: C:\Windows\system32>CHKDSK/R
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)
