I live in Buffalo and I was streaming on Twitch during the Blizzard we just received, my power cut out twice. Now I am wondering if my CPU is damaged. First I was getting a BSOD but came to realize it was a GPU Driver conflict. Now my computer is randomly shutting off, so I downloaded Core Temp to monitor my CPU and sure enough CPU is reaching 80 degrees before shutting off. Never had this problem prior to my power going out.

My build includes:

EVGA 760GTX
AMD 8350 8 Core
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 mobo (ATX)
16BG GSkill Ripjaws RAM
COOLMAX PSU 700W
Samsung 250G SSD
OS - Win7

random power cuts will not damage your cpu. only heat and extra voltage will. However, power cuts may corrupt your files on the hard drive. if the file happens to be used by the OS, then you will experience the random restarts or shutdowns. you can back up your files and reinstall windows to fix the issue though.
