Hey guys,

The processor in my new build has been acting a bit weird. I have seen multiple benchmarking results on youtube and other websites, out of all my CPU performs the worst.

For example I scored 889 in cinebench R15 but in some benchmarking videos on youtube with the same stock processor I have seen a score of 1200.

The CPU also remains at around 56C when idle with the corsair h115i liquid cooler which I do not think is normal either. In gaming it goes as much as 67C.

My specs are:

Asus strix x99 motherboard
i7 6850k (Stock)
Ripjaws V 32GB (4x8) DDR4 3000mhz
Asus Strix 1080 OC graphics card
Samsung 850 pro 512GB
Samsung 850 pro 128GB
WD 1TB 7200RPM
Corsair H115i water cooling

The PSU is a Corsair AX860I 80 Plus Platinum.

What are your thoughts on this?

Sure, I will try that now. But if it isn't giving me the proper results at the stock speed doesn't that mean there is something wrong with it?

I will set it tot 4.2Ghz and let you know how it goes.

Okay, so i just overclocked it as you said and it was completely fu**ed.

I ran Cinebench R15 and this is what happened:

First attempt got a windows error message saying that my pc ran in to problems and it restarted.

On second attempt temps went up to 95 and i got a score of 831 which is even lower than stock speeds.

Now im guessing that my CPU was probably a faulty one and i should get it exchanged.
