Is my CPU good enough for a capture card?

I am thinking of getting an elgato for recording and was wondering if you need a better cpu than what I have? I have a i5 4690 not overclockable.

Mate that is more then good enough, The 4690 and 4790 are both good CPU's and will fill your desires in that department. With that and a decent graphics card you should have no problem recording and editing food with your capture card.
