I apologize if anyone is tired of seeing AMD/Intel threads etc, but none of them seem to answer my question.
I have a small budget for a gaming computer, and am looking at the AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727 )
and pairing it with the Gigabyte 2GB HD7870 GHz Edition ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125418 )
NOTE: I am playing on a 1280x1024 monitor (do not plan to upgrade).
I will ONLY ever browse the internet, play the occasional flash game, play a few NES emulators, and a couple of MMO's which are:
The Elder Scrolls Online, and Final Fantasy XI. The recommended (not minimum) requirements for TESO is:
CPU: 3 GHz quad core processor
RAM: 2GB system memory, 4 GB minimum for 64-bit OS
Graphics: DirectX 11 compatible 1 GB graphics card, Nvidia 400 series or AMD 5000 series or better.
Operating system: Windows 7
DirectX audio card
FFXI's requirements are even lower than that. My question is:
Can my CPU handle the 7870? If not will, it handle a 2GB OC'd 7850? Also, that CPU is completely fine for my specific needs right? Basically browsing the internet with a few light games. I'm not looking for 1000 FPS, but would like to know if that CPU (won't be overclocking) can handle what I'm throwing at it without being pushed to its limits. If not, is there a CPU in the $90-$130 range that will?
