[SOLVED] Is my cpu not working like its suppose to or is it ok?

So yesterday i installed a ssd on my brothers laptop (we both have the exact same laptop with the exact same specs now after installing the ssd)
and i noticed that when i went to task manager and looked at the cpu on both laptops his was jumping from 0,90GHz to 3,80GHz it depends on what was happening inside the laptop
but my laptop was at 2,80GHz always no matter what only task manager running? 2,80, 10 apps running? 2,80 a game running? 2,80 i think something might be wrong with my cpu because so far i have never seen it hit above 2,81GHz and i never seen it lower than 2,80GHz

Sounds more like bios settings to me. Try clearing your cmos.

I found the bios setting it was speed step when i enabled it, it was fixed now im getting 3,50GHz and its fine now thx for making me go into bios

There's quite a few that could cause odd behavior, such as cool n quiet for AMD.
If you reset the cmos it'll set everything back to defaults. While you're at it, you might as well update your bios.

i have the newest bios version and the problem is fixed now so thanks for the help if you encounter this problem then enable speed step
