Ok so i just built a computer. And using MSI after burner, it says my CPU1 is at 170 degrees celcius, while CPU2,3,and 4 are around 30ish. Why is this happening? Is this normal? This is at idle!

Specs. I5 6600k
z170-a
r9 390
s340
2 120 mm fan
1 140 mm fan

When using CPUID, it says it is around 30ish degrees. Which one do I trust?
Thanks!

I'd trust both, but its hardly imaginable your PC working fine at 170 degrees. Check the heat in your case, open it to ensure it's not that hot. Try reapplying thermal paste if it's overheating or buy a new cooler. Stock coolers aren't very efficient anyways.

A little? Probably alot:) I'd be worried too if I had my CPU on 170 degrees

170 degrees c? That is like 330 degrees f. Something very wrong! You definitely want to be below 100 degrees c. I wouldnt even trust that temp. Are you sure it's correct? Your cpu should have shut down way before 170c. Go into to your bios and check cpu temp there. Most good boards have that feature in the bios. See if it matches, or if it's much lower.
