I'd like to know if FX 8320 is still good for the newest titles. I'd also like to know if I'll have any problems if I pair it with a gtx 1060 or RX 480 later. Right now I have a gtx 960 and sometimes the FX feels limiting, but I'm not sure. Is i5 4590 a good upgrade from the FX 8320

A GTX 1060 or RX 480 will work fine with an 8320. I have an RX 480 with my far older Phenom II 1100T and it works excellently (80-100fps on Doom, full details).

The 6600k needs a Z170 motherboard, Z97 will not work. Your current motherboard can only take AMD processors. So to get an i5, you should get a Z170 motherbaord and an i5-6600k. Its the best value for your money right now. No reason to buy Z97 and a 4590, they are a generation old.
The FX 8320 is still fine for most all games, upgrading to an i5 4590 won't give you any sort of huge gaming performance boost. Aside from the fact if you are going to upgrade you are better off not going with a generation old CPU. You would want to get an i5-6600k for example.

IMO I wouldn't replace it just yet.

Is it going to offer good performance if I upgrade to a better GPU like RX 480 or gtx 1060? And is z97 compatible with i5 6600k
