On Cinebench the multi-core looks fine...

However with single core, none of the cores get to the advertised 4.2ghz boost ??

Looking at the " Peak " it does appear one core did get to 4.1ghz which sounds about right...

Just tried CPUZ instead of Cinebench and one core got to 4.1ghz consistently

OK I closed all the background apps, ran the Cinebench again and Core 4 was consistently at 4.1ghz. That should explain it

Yep, pretty rare for a Ryzen CPU to reach advertised single core boost. But you are getting a good 4.0ish across all cores which is about right.

All about local heating and power limits. With really good cooling and a little overclocking you might get it to do 4.2Ghz consistently, but probably not all core.
