Question Is my current pcie bus config ok?

Hello, I recently got a second hand PC which specs are:

• Ryzen 2600
• MSI B550M Tomahawk
• 16 GB (2x8) 3200 Mhz Crucial Ballistix
• Asus Evo RX 5500 XT GB
• Crucial P2 MVMe 500GB

Both MVMe and GPU are installed the closest to the CPU.
Im worried about these information I saw at AMD Adrenalin and GPU-Z
Bus type: PCIE Express 4.0
Current bus config: PCI Express 3.0 x8

Why is not my GPU running at PCIE 4.0? Or even at PCie 3.0 x16? Is anything wrong?

Your CPU only supports PCIe 3.0

5500XT does not have an x16 connection, it is a lower end GPU and saves money by only wiring up 8x lanes. More than enough for such a GPU.

If you have the 4GB version then it's actually a problem if you start using up all the VRAM. PCIE 3.0 apparently doesn't have enough bandwidth to soak up the VRAM swapping.

The long term solution there would be to buy a Ryzen 3600 or Ryzen 5600, but only if you are having difficulties running something. You can also replace the GPU with something faster in a few years.
