[SOLVED] Is my current system still good choice at 1440p with ultra and high settings to use in today's modern games?

Would like suggestion from some better knowing people (rather than myself), Will I be able to run? at 1440p with Good FPS?

PC Specifications:
CPU: i7-980x
GPU: GTX 980 Ti 6GB by GIGABYTE
CPU cooler: Hyper TX3 EVO
RAM: 24 1066 mhz ram by G.SKILL
Motherboard: GIGABYTE X58A-UD7
PSU: GIGABYTE ODIN 800W
SSD OCZ Vertex 4 128GB - Windows 8.1 entiserpre x64
HDD WD1003FZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb
Case: CM Storm

Solution
depends on what you understand by "good fps"

the i7 is starting to show it's age. but should get you >60fps still. if you're getting good fps now @1080p, CPU will get output the same @1440p
the 980Ti might struggle on high settings @1440p though. depends on the game and the settings. for the newest AAA graphics intense games you might need to drop to medium.
