Question Is my geforce rtx 2070 compatible

Ive got a gigabyte ga-z77-ds3h revision 1.0 that will not get past the bios splash screen with the 2070 plugged into either of the pci-e 16 slots. The bios version is F6.ive seen on some site that it is compatible. Do I just need a bios update hopefully?

I am plugged into the 2070 when its stuck on the bios splash screen, so it SEES the card at least and puts out a display

Make sure BIOS is in UEFI mode not legacy
