Question Is my gpu dead?

I was gaming on my pc earlier in the day when suddenly my computer just turned off. I turned it back on but nothing appeared on the monitor. I checked the wires and even replaced the gpu power cables. I tried using the other pcie slot but still nothing. I reseated the ram as well but still nothing.

My specs are
Msi b450-a motherboard
16 GB of g.skill aegis ddr4 ram
Ryzen 7 1700x cpu
The sapphire nitro r9 fury
Thermaltake toughpower 850w gold PSU

What I don’t understand is that the dual bios switch on the r9 still lights up as if the card was working fine. The rest of the system seems fine.

I’ve already done so. It didn’t make any changes.

When you say your computer just turned off; did Windows shut down, did it blue screen or did it suddenly just go dead?

It suddenly went dead while on the main menu of a game. The screen went black and my computer turned off.

I think I may have found the problem, I opened up the card and saw this.

I'm not sure i see any damage. Try cleaning off the old thermal paste to get a better look.

I appreciate all the help, but I’ve confirmed that it’s dead. I tested my card in my friend’s system and it had the same problem. I borrowed a spare card from him and it was working over hdmi in my system.
