[SOLVED] Is my GPU dying?

Hey all,

recently having some weird shapes on screen when booting games or watching videos in full screen, is my GPU on its way out. It’s a ASUS ROG RX580 OC Edition.

It only seems to have happened in the last week.

I am afraid that it's signs of a dying GPU. You can try undervolting it and if the artifacts disappear then you can use it a little bit longer.

Whats warranty claims like with GPU's? as the GPU is around a year old and hasnt been OC'd at all.

Those look like artifacts that can be caused by a failing graphics card.

I would first try running this program to uninstall your graphics card driver and then reinstall the latest driver from AMD.

If that doesnt help:

I would contact your GPU manufacturer. RMAs with GPUs are pretty straightforward usually.

Unless you have torn your part apart and overclocked leading to the destruction of the GPU, I see no reason they would deny warranty.

Of course you can RMA the card if it's under warranty.
As NightHawkRMX suggested use DDU first as well, it might have some driver conflicts but it's difficult to be the reason.
