my PC got a 0xc000021a error. Before this error, my computer often freeze and the monitor shows no signal until I restart my computer. But just now it freeze again, and after i restart it, instead of booting normally, it shows 0xc000021a error at boot. I suspect that because of that freeze i have to unplug and replug my computer and damage my hard drive, and causing the 0xc000021a error. Is my analysis correct and the cause of the freeze is a faulty GPU ?

My specs :
HD 6670
i5 2500k @ stock
Windows 8.1 64 Bit
GA-P67A-UD3-B3
Patriot memory 32 GB RAM

The STOP 0xC000021A error occurs when either Winlogon.exe or Csrss.exe fails. When the Windows NT kernel detects that either of these processes has stopped, it stops the system and raises the STOP 0xC000021A error. This error may have several causes. Among them are the following:
Mismatched system files have been installed.
A Service Pack installation has failed.
A backup program that is used to restore a hard disk did not correctly restore files that may have been in use.
An incompatible third-party program has been installed.

I'd imagine drivers, virus, bad windows files. I'd reinstall and see how you go.

Not sure too much about windows 8, but you could try pressing quickly as it boot shift and f8 together, load into advanced boot mode and maybe load safe mode and remove the offending files once you have checked event history to figure this out.

seems after i read this you have more options once in advanced boot mode, should be able to fix it there!

not really. I can't refresh or reset my computer because I don't have the CD. Somehow all of my restore point is corrupted and I can't use it. And I can't even boot into ssafe mode, same 0xc000021a error.

so my only choice is formatting and reinstalling windows 8 then upgrade to windows 8.1 ?
what about the freeze and restart issue ? is it caused by graphic card ? I've tried changing the drivers before and it still persist

trust me, windows gets worse with time, your ignorance is not helping, its probably user error that landed you in this trouble.

You have no other choices, reinstall. A new graphics card will not get your system out of this windows issue without a re-install itself. So try the re-install first before you spend money you might not need too. The error you have stats its a windows/system fault, nothing mentions in the article about hardware....
