Is my GPU hanging too much?

Solution
is it fully secure in the PCIe slot? if so then I wouldn't worry. If you want to go to the extremes I guess you could slightly slacken the screws on the left holding your GPU where the I/O are.

Maybe try putting it into another PCIe slot.

Thanks for the quick response, just encountered another problem, how shpoudl I wire the card up. This image shows how the adapters wires don't match up with those on my PSU

Maybe you or someone else could help with this, first time building 😛

Yes I have those, do the two extra pins hanging off have to be plugged into a specific side (to the left or right) of the 6pins, the two extra are black wires?

The pins are keyed so that they can only go in one way. For the the eight pin plug, you'll plug in the six pin PCI-E cable and the two extra pins from that cable. Facing the card, they will go to the right. For the six pin plug, you just use the six pin cable and leave the two extra pins hanging (or zip tie them to the cable to make it a little neater).

Ah yes, thank you very much for your help I have managed to start my computer now, now it gets interesting
