Hey, I bought an ASUS GeForce GTX 1050 2GB Cerberus OC and was wondering if my 280W PSU will be enough for the card? (im not playing on 1080p or higher if that matters)

My motherboard: LENOVO SHARKBAY 31900058 STD.

My CPU: Intel Core i7-4770.

Does the 1050 in question require an external 6 or 8 pin PCI-e supplemental power input from PSU, and, does your PSU even have these connections available?

280 watts is darn small these days.....; the 4770 is an 84 watt TDP CPU, so, as long as you are not running 7 spinning hard drives in your case, it might work...

I'd personally be more comfortable with a modern 430 watt PSU from EVGA, frankly...(requires an ATX case with non-proprietary MB connectors/headers, etc...)

It says Easy plug-and-play gaming without the need for extra power. I also found this: Because the GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti both consume under 75W, they can draw all needed power straight from a PC's motherboard, making the cards a hassle-free upgrade for people with prebuilt “big box” computers.

Im just gonna have the 280W for like 12 days and then I may change the PSU to 450 or 500W.
