Is my GTX 680 Bottlenecking with my CPU?

Hello Everyone,
I currently get low fps after upgrading to the gtx680 from a gtx 570
I don't notice any difference when playing Crysis or GTA 4.
I get between 25-40 fps on both games which are the same fps I get with the GTX 570
Also when I play Assassin's Creed Revelations I get 100 fps and no one is around and it drops significantly to 40 fps.
Can someone answer my question because I only have couple days to return the GTX 680

in theory it shouldnt bottleneck

but i have read some similar complains about phenom and high end GPU in toms forum
phenom architecture is not as good as we can expect

you should invest on high quality PSU in the near future, pick one 500W-750W from corsair, antec, xfx, seasonic brand

im not 100% sure, but doesnt the phenom cpus go on am3 socket? if so then i would get a 8320 or even a 6300 cause their not that expensive and i dont know, but you might not have to buy a new motherboard with it

What resolution are you playing at?

This is how many fps your GTX 680 should be getting.

I am playing at 1920x1200 and I also notice when I lower the settings the fps is still the same. I hope I don't have to return the gtx680. Don't want to spend too much upgrading the the motherboard and CPU..unless I have no choice

Thats a CPU Bottleneck for sure.
When you Lower or Higher your Setting and still don't see a Difference, then its CPU Bottleneck.
Best is to get i5.

As you cannot get FX series. They fit in AM3+ Socket.

Might be wise anyways - the 680 is only 5% faster than the 670, which is $100 cheaper. When both are overclocked, that 5% drops to about 2%.

I just upgraded to gigabyte intel z77motherboard and intel i7-3770k and GTX 670
Do you think this was a good upgrade????
