I have an older computer I know it's not the best but lately I've had a few problems. I'll list my specs and then explain the problem I believe the the hard drive might be going.
Specs:
PSU: EVGA 600W
CPU: Phenom II x 6 1090
RAM: 8GB Ballistix DDR3
Mobo: M4A78LT-M
Cryorig H7 CPU fan
GPU: EVGA GTX 960 4GB
I have a 8 year old HDD 1TB drive and I believe it's starting to go. My computer worked fine for a while. Recently I got a dreaded blue screen 0x0000001 not handled error. I started noticing some problems eith my drive. My drivers for my GPU disappeared the nvidia update area disappeared and the only thing that showed up was the control panel. I recently updated to Windows 10 to possibly fix 7 and everything worked fine then the screen froze up or well windows did. Eventually the computer wouldn't boot and it began go freeze on start up then in the bios etc. I checked the BIOS and my hard drive is detected but it won't boot. Now when I try to start the computer ot does 1 of 3 things. 1) the computer boots, and it freezes trying to boot windows 2) the computer boots but the monitor turns on 3) the computer boots but the CPU fan is at high power but no display on the monitor.
I reset the CMOS, checked the ram, CPU temps are fine, PSU seems fine, unplugged GPU and tried with and without the GPU. The BIOS detects the drive but windows 10 doesn't boot. My drive was very slow before this problem, loading games, starting up windows it was getting slower.
So sorry about all of that but could it be the drive finally failing it has been 8 years and I did reinstall windows a few times and still nothing.
All other parts are about a year old except the drive.
