Hey,
I have a seagate barracuda hdd. Its atleast more than 5 years old. My system frequently freezes up. Also games freezes. In task manager, hdd usage shows 100% frequently. I think my drive is dying. I am posting a SMART test screenshot from GSmartControl. Please can anyone take a look and interpret if my HDD is dying? https://ibb.co/9TC082r

It's already dead but nobody told it yet.

Your screenshot has obscured an important attribute (Reportable Uncorrectable) which has hit its threshold.

The Command Timeout value is best viewed in hexadecimal:

  • 605 600 088 322 = 0x8D00940102 -> 0x008D / 0x 0094 / 0x0102

This is telling you that there have been 141 (= 0x8D) occasions where the command execution time exceeded 7 seconds.

There is nothing wrong with the Seek Error Rate. In fact the actual number of seek errors is 0.
