Is my hard drive unusable?

Trying to wipe my drive with wipedrive, it came up with 238 disk errors. It also says "verify write error between lba sectors" is my hard drive recoverable at all, or is it dead?

I suspect your drive is not good. You can use mhdd to scan the drive to see how bad it is and then use the erase command to wipe it.
