Is my Hdd Useless?

I recently bought a new 960 evo 500 gb ssd and I had installed my os into my computer and updated the driver and everything. I have hdd connected to my pc. everytime i try to click things in my old hard drive i couldnt open it. it always has an error message that im missing somthing required to open that thing. Is my hdd can no longer be useful? what if i want to look back into it. how i get back to open up my data. is there a way that my old hdd can be useful?

What are you trying to open.

If you're trying to open old programs, those will not work since the HDD isn't the main drive anymore - the shortcuts don't know where to direct.

If it's regular files (documents, video, MP3, whatever), then you might have an issue.

im trying open like steam, and games but it wont work

You will need to reinstall those things since the main drive has changed.

When you're reinstalling, yes, you can direct the installation to the HDD.
