Is my headset broken?

I have had a pair of Razer Kraken 7.1 headset for about half a year. I woke up this morning and opened CS:GO and joined a deathmatch and the second I heard a gunshot I noticed something was wrong. It's like the quality is really bad now, everything sounds muffled. Does something is wrong with my headset and I need new ones or could this be a fixable issue.

It could a number of different things, like a break in a wire. Have you tried plugging them into a different USB port, or making sure they are connect correctly - hope this help.
