Hello, I have the HP - Pavilion TouchSmart 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - 4GB Memory - 500GB Hard Drive - Anodized Silver/Sparkling Black and was wondering if it was expandable. It is 64-bit with an amd a8 processor. The Ram currently installed is 4GB and I was looking if I could add more. I was looking at adding an extra 4-8GB of RAM. Is this possible, if so how much RAM could I add. One last thing, If i added more RAM, would my laptop loose any memory saved on the hard drive, because I am looking to host a server (minecraft) for a game with more than 4GB of RAM. Thank You! :)

Solution
No, you will not lose any data. It is usually plug-n-play and there is nothing that needs to be configured. No, nothing will changed except the amount of memory.

Hello.

There are many HP Pavilion Touchsmart and which exactly is yours ? Please let us know either your model number or the product number of your laptop (eg. RQ746YA#ABA).

No, you will not lose any data when you add new memory (RAM). The data which you are talking about will be stored in Hard disk and this will not affect that in anyway.

Ok, thanks so much! Also, if I replace the RAM with two 8GB will any data be lost, will I have to configure anything for it to be able to work, and will anything change besides the fact that more memory has been added? Thanks :)
