Hi I just finished building an i5 build.
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2
MSI P55-GD80
(don't think the other components matter that much but if they do I will post them too)
I have the system overclocked to 3.6ghz
For the BIOS settings I have:
Intel EIST - Disabled
C1E Support - Disabled
BCLK - 200
OC stepping - Disabled
CPU Ratio - 18
For memory I have them set at stock settings of 7-8-7-24 timings
Memory ratio 4 = 1600MHz
QPI ratio at the lowest (16) = 6400MHz
Load-Line Calibration - Enabled
CPU Voltage 1.250V
CPU VTT - 1.126V
DRAM 1.650
Spread Spectrum - Disabled
Everything else is auto setting for my motherboard
I have run 8 hrs of Prime95 small ffs - no errors
20 passes of IntelBurnTest with 2gig memory setting- no errors
10 passes of Linx - no errors
Ambient temp around 24C
Idle Temps around 32C-35C
100% load from IBT and Linx brings CPUS to a max of 62C once or twice during tests
Is this overclock safe to last for say 4 years? or will this decrease the life of the CPU significantly?
Thanks for the help!
On Another note, I have tried lowering the OC to 3.2Ghz and keeping turbo boost enabled, and my RAM in BIOS says 1600, but in CPUz only says 2569.5, Same thing if I disable turboboost. I don't have this problem with my 3.6ghz OC. Anyone know why this is?
